The current trustees of the Fellowship of the School of Economic Science are as follows:


ian_mason

IAN MASON is a barrister practising in housing, environment, public and property law. He has been an active student in the School since 1971 and currently leads studies in law and economics. Ian joined the Fellowship in 1981, was elected to the Executive Committee in 1996 and became Principal of the School in Great Britain and Chairman of the Fellowship and the Executive Committee in 2008.


sue_young

SUE YOUNG trained at The London College of Fashion moving on to run her own retail business for many years. She currently works freelance from her studio in north London. Sue also works locally with the NHS training volunteers and work experience youngsters in her local hospital as well as being on the local Community Police Panel. Sue has been a student in the school since 1966, joining the Fellowship in the late 1990’s and was elected to the Executive Committee in 2009.


richard_glover

RICHARD GLOVER has degrees in Electronics and Medical Physics. He has practised these in industry for 20 years, and then since 1992 as an independent consultant. Richard began studying in the School in the mid 1970’s and is currently active in the economics faculty. He joined the Fellowship in 1989 and was elected to the Executive Committee in 2007.


ann_hithersay

ANN HITHERSAY holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and has worked in the Voluntary Sector for more than 30 years, for some time as a Chief Executive. Ann now works as a consultant to Alexandra Rose Day and has been a Trustee of the Haemophilia Society since 2003. She became a student of the School in 1956, a member of the Fellowship in 1997, and was elected to the Executive Committee in 2007. Ann also chairs a working group looking into the needs of elderly members of the School.


john_meltzer

JOHN MELTZER is a London city solicitor practising in commercial litigation and product safety. He began the study of philosophy in the associated School in Sydney, Australia, in 1973, and became a student in London in 1987. He has a keen interest in the study of Plato and has spoken at several public seminars on Plato’s life and works. He joined the Fellowship in 1998 and was elected to the Executive Committee in 2004.


sebastian_munden

SEBASTIAN MUNDEN studied English language and Literature at Merton College, Oxford. He has worked in the international packaged goods industry for twenty years in several countries. Sebastian has presented courses in economics, globalisation and international business in London and New York. Previous trusteeships in the not-for-profit sector include theatre companies and most recently chair of the board of directors of the International School Hamburg. He was elected to the Executive committee in 2008.


andrew_purves

ANDREW PURVES has worked in the furniture industry since gaining a degree in History and Politics from QMC, London. In 1992 he set up his own retail business, which he continues to operate. Andrew started studying in the School in 1981, and has a particular interest in Economics. He was elected to the Executive Committee in 2008.


hugh_venables

HUGH VENABLES has worked in the charity sector since 1990, including the Prince of Wales’s International Business Leaders Forum, the research and public education NGO Saferworld, and the international development charity Action Aid. He is currently Administrator of the Education Renaissance Trust. Before 1990 he worked in the oil industry. He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration. Hugh began studying in the School in 1965, became a member of the Fellowship in 1998 and was elected to the Executive Committee in 2001.


peter_fennell

PETER FENNELL is an architect and director in a diverse practice including airport and commercial projects and some private residences. He credits the School for much of his education having attended St Vedast and St James schools and during the 90s the School’s Youth and Study Groups. He first attended a philosophy class in 1975 and his current activities for the School include giving classes in economics and serving as architect for Art in Action. He joined the Fellowship in 2006 and was elected to the Executive Committee in 2010.
