The Laws of Creation and Time

This is the third of a series of lectures given by members of the School’s Astronomy faculty on the fundamental laws governing creation. This term some of the talks continue with this theme, whilst others take a fresh look at religious and philosophical ideas affecting society’s current attitudes and opinions.

The topics to be covered include:

  • Inner zodiac and the chakras
  • Age of the Universe. The traditional view, the mathematics behind it and how it relates to the Vedas and the Gods
  • The Elements. Four or five or a hundred and eighteen? What is the difference and significance of each view?
  • Practical Philosophic Quest of Everyman
  • Richard Dawkins – God and the Self
  • The Importance of Religion for Humanity
  • Astronomical insights
