How do you know who you are? Or why you are? For millennia, philosophy has explored these issues to provide real answers that work today.
Our course of ten evening (or Saturday morning) sessions over ten weeks, plus an optional day’s seminar, in timeless, practical philosophy, provides an opportunity to consider philosophical ideas and questions of real relevance to all our lives.
Details, including a synopsis of the course, frequently asked questions, locations round the country where it is offered, together with contact details, can be found on the course’s own website, www.philosophycourse.com.
In Central London, the course is held at The School of Economic Science, 11 Mandeville Place, London W1U 3AJ less than five minutes’ walk from Bond Street tube station. Click here for a map of the area.
The same Philosophy session is repeated every weekday evening and on Saturday mornings so you have the option of varying your day of attendance each week.
Evening weekday sessions begin at 7.00pm and finish at approximately 9.30pm. A light vegetarian supper is available each evening during the break except for Friday, when food will be available before the group.
Saturday morning sessions begin at 10.00am and finish at about 12.15pm, including a mid-morning tea/coffee break.
The first week of the Spring 2012 Introductory Practical Philosophy Course is from Monday 23 January to Saturday 28 January. Students may also join at any time in the second week.
Fees are £95 for anyone enrolling before Monday 6 February, and £135 thereafter. There is also a flat rate for students in full-time education of £45 per course (evidence required).
You can enrol by one of several methods, including online.
