What we are learning

Dates: Saturdays from 19 January
Where: 11 Mandeville Place, London, UK

The wisdom of ancient sages is available to us directly through the Sanskrit language. Study of Sanskrit reveals beauty, order and subtleties that cannot be conveyed in translations. It allows deeper penetration into the spiritual and philosophical wealth of the Vedic tradition.

This is the first term of an introductory course for beginners. It will cover the alphabet and some basic principles of the language. The course will proceed with sounding, reading and writing the Sanskrit script, allowing practical engagement with the language. Students will learn to chant a simple Sanskrit prayer.
